At the end of August, I had the pleasure of attending the Avon Visionaries convention virtually. It was a lot of fun and I even won a prize. My prize arrived yesterday and I wanted to show it off to all of you!
The box arrives!
It included a nice note!
I won ALL of the Skin So Soft Bug Guard Products!
Thanks to my vast knowledge of alternative 80’s music, I quickly and correctly guessed the answer that the song playing was by Adam Ant, winning me this complete collection of every Skin So Soft Bug Guard product that Avon makes.
Thank you Avon!!! It was fun and even after sharing some out with my family, I’ll probably have enough insect repellent to last me the rest of my life! I can’t wait for next year’s convention!
This past weekend Avon held its first ever virtual convention and I was lucky to be able to attend. The event was so much fun. It was so entertaining. There was great music with a DJ, games with prizes (I won one!), discount shopping and a sneak peek at all the new holiday merchandise that’s coming to Avon soon.
I also learned A LOT about selling Avon from some of Avon’s top sellers and I even learned some new things about myself by way of an amazing Master Class I attended.
#Avonvisionaries
The convention was called Avon Visionaries because it was a look into the future of Avon and I’m so happy to be a part of that future.
There were several announcements made during the convention that made becoming a new independent sales representative and selling Avon even better than it was when I started just a couple of months ago. So, if you’ve been on the fence about selling Avon, now is really the time to go for it! You can learn more about selling Avon, and join my team, by clicking HERE.
It’s free to get started and they have a wonderful incentive program for new reps.
I have to admit that as a new Avon lady, I was thrilled that they decided to do this year’s convention online because I highly doubt that I’d have attended a destination one this early in my career. In fact, going forward, I hope they do more of them online.
What do you think? Have you ever attended an Avon convention? Have you ever sold Avon? Would you like to? Share your thoughts in the comments section. I love hearing from my readers!
I became an Avon Independent Sales Representative and started this blog one month ago. I know that I still have a lot to learn but I think I’m catching on pretty quickly.
During my first month I made a couple of sales and earned one of Avon’s beginner’s rewards. I chose the cute business card holder.
Isn’t the card holder cute?
I did a lot of the online Avon training (I still have a ways to go.) and I’ve been working on promoting through my Avon-designated social media accounts.
I joined several Facebook groups for Avon independent sales representatives and I’m finding that Avon-related people are really nice and very helpful.
I started a new page here at the blog to keep track of all the marketing tips I’m learning because I thought it might be helpful for other new Avon Independent Sales Representatives too.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, or even one month and after all of my years working online, I know better than to expect my independent Avon business to become a booming success in just 30 days. I believe in Avon’s products and they are constantly bringing out even more wonderful new makeup, skincare, hair care, fragrances, and useful household items. As an Avon rep, part of my job is to try out all of these terrific things.
For right now, I’m having a lot of fun doing what I’m doing, and I know that with time, patience and a consistent work effort, I will be a successful Avon lady one day soon.
Today, after much deliberation, I decided to set up a new business account on Pinterest for my Avon business as well as this blog, Sugar Spice and Thirty Twice.
I had originally planned to keep using my other Pinterest business account and just add Avon boards to it, which I did add a few… but after thinking a bit more about it, I know it’s best to keep things nice and niche. And so, a new account was born.
It’s been a while since I set up my other Pinterest account and things have changed a little bit but I did manage to claim my website, choose profile and featured photos to add at the top, and get the account going. I was happy to learn how easy it is to switch between Pinterest accounts now too! No more signing out and signing back in. It’s just a toggle at the top of the page.
I even managed to snag the name, Online Avon Lady, which I thought was pretty cool.
Claiming my website was easier than I thought it would be because WordPress actually includes everything you need to do it. You just need to know where to look and click. Which took me a minute but I did eventually find it.
There’s still a lot to do but if anyone is interested in following me there, I’d be really grateful. You see, my other account has over 8000 followers with a reach of over 500,000 views.
My new account has (at the time of this posting) only 2 followers and virtually no reach at all. It’s a lonely and desolate place to hang out right now. But hang there, I must. It needs lots more boards!
I’ve been so obsessed with getting my new blog set up, and trying to make it look just right, that I almost lost sight of the end goal… the earnings. This morning, I was really excited to find my first Avon paycheck delivered right into my bank account.
As expected, it’s small, but it tells me I’m doing something right and I’m on my way to bigger and better. But, more importantly it made me smile and with all of the craziness and sadness going on in the world right now, that’s a very big thing. I’d like to take a moment here to say thank you to my first customers, you know who you are, and to thank each and everyone who has been helping me whether it’s by following my blog, visiting my online Avon store, even just to take a peek, joining my Facebook page, liking my Avon pins on Pinterest, following my tweets on Twitter, or simply by giving me a few encouraging words, or even a virtual pat on the back. You’re all the BEST and I’m grateful to have you in my life!

More than for the money, the main reason I decided to start this Avon journey was to get something new to wrap my head around. Prior to this, I was spending way too much time watching the news and fretting over everything that I have no control over. Yes, it’s important to stay informed. And yes, it’s scary but now that I’ve started doing this Avon work from home gig, I’m not dwelling on all the bad stuff anymore. I’m not even as bothered about recently turning thirty twice. I now find myself excited to get started each day. I’m excited to connect with new people. And I’m excited to be learning new things.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, why not think about becoming an Avon representative yourself? I’d be happy to help you learn more and get started on your own Avon journey. After you join, I’ll even hook you up with some great people who are helping me learn how to make this business a success.
If Avon isn’t your thing, I know it’s not for everyone, I strongly suggest you find something else you’d like to do as a side job because smiling does wonders for your self esteem. And it won’t hurt your bank account either!
Tell me what you’ve been doing to make yourself smile each day.
Prior to this I was mostly watching FRIENDS, when I needed a little boost to my spirit. I love that show. What have you been doing to keep your spirits up during this crazy period of time? Share your thoughts in the comments section. I love hearing from my readers.
