How To Find The Best Lipstick For You

As a new Avon Independent Sales Representative, I’m constantly learning.

And the thing I’m learning the most is that I have A LOT to learn. You see, just yesterday, a good friend asked me; What’s the difference between Avon’s True Color Satin and Shimmer lipstick? I had to admit, I had no idea! So, being that she’s one of my oldest and dearest, the two of us set out on a mission to uncover the deep dark secrets of Avon’s lipstick formulas.

As the Avon rep in charge, I dove into my secret and confidential only-an-Avon-independent-Sales-Representative-can-see product files aka the resource library located in the back-end of my Avon sales rep account.

She searched my anyone-can-see-it online Avon store.

And guess what? She won!

After swallowing a little bit of my pride, I mean, really… I’m supposed to be the knowledgeable one in this instance, I was really glad she found the information because that meant that anyone who has this very same question will be able to find the answer easily, all by themselves, at my Avon eStore.

Her answer was located in a blog post in the HOW-TO’s section of my Avon eStore. If you visit there, you’ll find all kinds of good makeup and skin care information including but not limited to, how to find your best lipstick.

Some of what we learned was that there are a lot of different ways you can shop for lipstick and that there are several important choices for you to make before deciding on a color.

Avon True Color Lipstick

You can shop for Avon lipstick by its benefit.

There are Avon lipsticks designed for lots of benefits including plumping, hydrating, and long wear.

You can shop for Avon lipstick by formula.

Avon has several different types of formulas in their lipstick lines. You’ll find classic lipstick, lip balms, lip crayons, liquid lipstick, and lip gloss.

And of course, you can shop for Avon lipstick by color.

Probably the last thing on your lipstick shopping agenda (and sometimes the most difficult portion of the shopping event) is choosing the color… especially choosing a color when shopping for lipstick online. Sometimes we’re just not sure if a certain shade goes with our unique combination of skin and hair coloring.

Did you know that at my Avon online store you can try all of the different lipstick colors and shades on to see which one is best suited for your coloring and tone?

Avon True Color Nourishing Lipstick

Try it on!!!

When shopping for makeup at my eStore, after choosing a benefit and a formula, you can try the color on to see if you like it or not. It’s such an awesome makeup shopping tool. To use it, go to the lipstick of your choice and you’ll find a button located underneath the product photo that says, TRY IT ON.

After you click that button, Avon will ask permission to take your photo, or you can upload a selfie you’ve already taken, OR you can choose a photo of a model who has similar skin tone and hair color to you. After you’ve done that, you’ll be able to “try on” (see the makeup color on your photo) all of the different shades.

It works for other types of makeup too!

It’s a lot of fun to use and you can get lost in there for hours. Okay, so maybe it’s just me whose gotten lost in there for hours but it’s all good clean fun. Right?

What’s the difference between Avon’s Satin and Shimmer Lipsticks?

So, coming back to where we started, what exactly IS the difference between satin and shimmer?

In answer to my friend’s question, we learned that Avon’s Satin lipstick formula is a happy medium between matte and glossy.

Avon’s Shimmer lipstick has a splash of sparkle in it.

And just FYI; There’s also matte and sheer lipstick formulas at Avon.

How about you? Do you have a favorite Avon lipstick formula or color? Have you tried the Avon virtual TRY IT ON tool yet? Share your thoughts in the comments. I love hearing from my readers.
